God Understands You

I was invited by some brothers in my church to attend a Freedom Ascent training event. I felt somewhat anxious about this because I can’t read or write well, and Spanish is not my language. Despite that, I decided to attend the event. The people leading the event were very good people, and when we were going to pray together, they told me that I could pray in my own language. That meant a lot to me and I felt very respected by them. And I liked the way we interacted with God's Word. As I listened to the Bible being read, and as we discussed what this had to do with our addictions, it helped me to feel a wonderful freedom. I realized that God desired to help me be free of my old addiction to alcohol. As I prayed to him about this in my mother tongue, I experienced a great confidence and peace. I thank God for these steps that I'm taking to learn how to live free of alcohol. And maybe The Enemy doesn't like that, but in God's name these chains need to be broken. I know it isn’t too late because God can help me.
